Green Optics

It seems that nowadays everyone thinks "green" - is it a passing episode or a real trend of change? This session covers optical devices that contribute to a cleaner environment and to a more efficient use of natural resources. Among them are novel adn more efficient PV cells, sustainable energy that benefits from optical devices, energy storage using optics, optical design for energy efficient buildings, and optical sensors for detecting impurities and toxic matter in the day-to-day life, like in drinking water.
